Job summary

Westinghouse seeks a Project Engineer – Thermal Management for Utility Scale Energy Storage. You will support design through commissioning of BESS thermal systems, report to the onsite manager, and guide cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable energy storage solutions.

Role emphasizes optimization, lessons learned, and development of tools/standards to maximize BESS performance; on-site or remote work in Florida region. 5+ years in engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate design aspects of major components for utility-scale energy storage projects.
• Prepare technical scopes of work for thermal management studies and designs for contract documents.
• Support projects from conception through commissioning, including on-site commissioning activities.
• Provide engineering guidance to project teams and oversee external Engineers of Record.
• Collaborate with suppliers on equipment sizing, controls, technology compatibility, and integration.
• Partner with multi-disciplined teams on problem solving, system integration, and process improvement.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and track emerging technologies.
