Oklo is seeking a Thermal-Hydraulics and Safety Analysis Engineer to own the thermal-hydraulic safety case for domestic isotope-production facilities. You will develop system-level transient analyses using RELAP5 to support licensing and design basis.

Collaborating with reactor physics, safety, licensing, and design teams, you will translate regulatory requirements into analysis plans and auditable documentation, while operating in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in nuclear, mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering, or a closely related field.
• Five or more years of relevant reactor thermal-hydraulics or safety analysis experience.
• Experience developing and executing system-level transient models using RELAP5.
• Strong foundation in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and reactor TH.
• Experience defining reactor transients, including conditions, responses, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to document analyses in clear, reviewable reports.

Responsabilités

• Develop, maintain, and execute system-level thermal-hydraulic models of reactor/plant behavior using RELAP5 or comparable tools.
• Analyze normal operations, design-basis events, and selected beyond-design-basis conditions relevant to the safety case.
• Develop event-specific analysis plans, including initial/boundary conditions, assumptions, acceptance criteria, and uncertainties.
• Document TH safety-analysis methods and engineering practices for licensing.
• Translate regulatory requirements into defensible analysis strategies.
• Prepare calculation packages, methodology documents, and licensing-content responses.
• Collaborate with reactor physics, safety, licensing, and design teams on coupled analyses.
