Job summary

Aquila Technology is seeking a Thermal Engineer to support defense research programs, focusing on thermal management from cryogenic to hypersonic regimes across various platforms. The role involves end-to-end thermal modeling, material properties, and system-level trade studies.

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with Thermal Desktop, SolidWorks, and CFD tools, and be prepared for limited travel and eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree level required: Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of Thermal Analysis experience.
• 5+ years using Thermal Desktop.
• 5+ years of Thermal Engineering experience.
• 5+ years of SolidWorks experience.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end development and execution of geometry-based thermal models, applying thermo-physical properties and performing steady-state and transient analyses.
• Provide thermal technical expertise to system-level trade studies and design reviews to inform architecture and thermal management concepts.
• Evaluate, select, and procure thermal control hardware, and develop plans for developmental, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Carry out system-level and detailed component-level thermal design, analysis, and testing on space-qualified optical/communication systems and supporting electronics.
