Job summary

Radiant, an El Segundo, CA-based startup developing portable nuclear microreactors, seeks a highly motivated Thermal Engineer to join our team. You will perform thermal analysis and CFD to evaluate Kaleidos system design and contribute to fast-paced, hands-on engineering.

Responsibilities include expanding CFD capabilities, documenting results for stakeholders, and building CAD-integration pipelines. Ideal candidates hold a BS/MS in an engineering field and can work independently in a startup.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering in a related field; graduation by Dec 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Ability to solve challenging engineering tasks independently in a startup.
• Willingness to learn reactor physics context is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute thermal analysis and CFD for Kaleidos system design and performance.
• Document analysis results to communicate clear outputs.
• Expand CFD capabilities and workflow efficiency.
• Own pipeline for producing analysis geometry from CAD.
• Develop methods to support lower-fidelity thermal analyses.
