Job summary
Apple Inc. is seeking a Thermal Engineer for the Mac system family in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will serve as the primary technical contributor to thermal design, focusing on numerical analysis during concept and prototyping phases to meet performance targets and customer experience goals.
You will work with hardware, software, silicon, and product teams to deliver optimized cooling solutions and validate designs through mass production, with opportunities for leadership and impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a related field and 5+ years in heat transfer or related area.
- Strong conduction, convection and radiation fundamentals.
- Experience with data processing and numerical modeling tools.
Responsibilities
- Create a comprehensive thermal system model for Mac products.
- Apply heat transfer principles and simulations to guide design.
- Optimize thermal solutions to meet performance goals and constraints.
- Present design tradeoffs to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Collaborate in a large team and support mass production validation.
- Assist early validation and prototyping for ramp to production.
