Job summary

Vertiv invites academically oriented students to join as Application Engineer Thermal Intern. This role supports sales and customers by delivering technical information, assisting with product selection, and pricing, while acting as a bridge between field teams and internal departments.

You will perform equipment performance runs, prepare tailored solutions for RFPS, review orders, and participate in new product development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Proficient and fluent in English including technical terminology.
• Understanding of commercial infrastructure design objectives, performance factors, and physical requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Commercial or relevant industry experience preferred.
• Experience with technical scope review and formal proposal development preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and one-line diagrams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides applications sales support.
• Applies Quote Configurator tool to provide comprehensive quote support.
• Performs equipment performance runs on Vertiv thermal management equipment.
• Assists in developing clear, concise, and technically sound tailored solutions for customer review and acceptance based on customer requirements and/or Request for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring proper scope and required technical specifications are met.
• Assists in the review of custom equipment orders and provides technical instruction throughout the order workflow.
• Executes technical sales operations tasks such as change order and engineer to order (ETO) processing.
• May assist in providing product support to Offering Managers.
• May participate in new product development projects.
• Other Duties as assigned.
