Job summary

Spirax-Sarco Engineering's Electrical Thermal Solutions (ETS) division in Cary, IL, seeks an Associate Application Engineer to analyze heating applications and design cost-effective, customer-focused solutions. Reporting to the Manager of Application Engineering, you will develop quotes, support sales teams, and collaborate with design engineering to provide order support across the organization.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

1+ years of related experience in a technical environment.
Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data handling.

Responsibilities

Design and quote premium thermal solutions for standard and customer-specific applications.
Coordinate quotation and order-entry activities with sales, estimation, engineering, and production teams.
Understand markets and competition to manage quotations of competitive designs.
Review customer drawings and specifications to identify key requirements.
Provide technical support to sales engineers and assist with design recommendations.
Determine materials and cost requirements in collaboration with engineering and purchasing teams.
Help manage pricing and margins for key accounts and new opportunities.
Become proficient with product design and pricing tools.
Assist customers and reps with troubleshooting and product support.
Lead cross-functional meetings to align dates and expectations on large orders.
Document, analyze, and improve processes and support strategic projects.
