Job summary

RTX is seeking a Thermal Analyst I to ensure structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio. The role covers from initial concepts to fielded weapon systems, using classical methods and state‑of‑the‑art finite element tools, validated by tests to balance cost and performance.

You will work onsite at a Raytheon facility with engineers on problems of moderate complexity, lead peer reviews, and present results to stakeholders while generating detailed reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics required by start date.
• Academic or professional experience in thermal design and analysis.
• Experience with FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, ANSYS or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order analyses.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware requirements.
• Support test setup, analyze data, and validate thermal models.
• Coordinate peer reviews to ensure technical accuracy of work.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Produce detailed archival technical reports.
