Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Thermal Analyst I to ensure structural and thermal design robustness across RTX products. You will use methods from hand calculations to finite element analyses to develop solutions, validated by tests to meet cost and schedule constraints. You will work with engineers, prepare detailed reports, and present results to stakeholders.

Requirements include a STEM bachelor’s degree and experience with FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, or ANSYS. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date.
• Experience with any of the following tools: FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, ANSYS or equivalent
• Experience of applying mechanical principles to solve classical thermal engineering problems both inside and outside of software tools

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis
• Perform detailed thermal analyses to solve various program thermal design challenges
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements
• Support test setup and execution, analyze test data, correlate and validate thermal models
• Work with experienced engineers on problems of moderate complexity to provide solutions within program cost and schedule constraints
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports
