Job summary

Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia is hiring a Rehab Aide to assist licensed therapists in physical therapy, speech therapy and/or occupational therapy. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment and support front-end staff with supplies and admin duties in inpatient, outpatient, or skilled nursing settings.

The role involves assisting with patient communication, audits, inventory, and training new staff or volunteers, under supervision of Rehab Services

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
• Experience: 1 year Healthcare experience (Preferred).
• Licenses and Certifications: CPR/BLS Certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides non-skilled patient care activities as directed by therapist or therapy assistant.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment wiping down equipment, preparing mat tables for the next patient and managing soiled linens.
• Assures equipment is ready for use.
• Assists with patient communication regarding schedule or appointments.
• Assists with audits and reports.
• Answers the phones.
• Maintains appropriate levels of supplies and assures equipment is ready for use.
• Stocks shelves, monitors inventory and orders supplies.
• Assists with new employee, student, and volunteer training.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

CPR/BLS Certification - Preferred (AHA/ARC/American Safety & Health Institute)
