Job Summary

This position provides quality, person-centered, trauma informed, recovery focused therapeutic services to those enrolled in Therapy Services, including the co-occurring out-patient and intensive out-patient programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Take deliberate steps to increase their own cultural competency by attending training, events, discussions, workshops, etc.

MemberSupportDuties:

• Engagemembersutilizingatraumalensandcultural humility to quickly establish trust and build rapport.
• Partnerwithmemberstohelpthemachievegoalsaroundimprovingtheirmentalhealthand substance use
• Provide therapeutic services, including individual sessions, group sessions, family/couples therapy, and assessments to members with mental health challenges, substance use disorders,andphysicalhealthissues.Useevidence-basedmodalitiessuchasCognitiveBehavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and harm reduction strategies.
• Educatemembersabouttheconnectionbetweenmentalhealth,substanceuse,andphysical health, providing tools to enhance overall wellness.
• Empowermembersbyteachingcopingstrategies,lifeskills,andrelapsepreventionskills.
• Collaboratewithmemberstodeveloppersonalizedtreatmentplansthataddressmentalhealth, substance use, and physical health needs.
• Providecrisisinterventionformembersinacutedistress,ensuringsafetyandimmediatesupport.
• Addressmentalhealthandsubstanceusecriseswithsensitivityandatrauma-informed approach, coordinating with medical and social services teams as necessary.
• Assistmemberswithdevelopinginterpersonalskillstoconnectwithmembersofthe community and expand their natural support system.
• Complete,maintain,andreviewdocumentationforagencyandfundingrequirementswithinall designated timeframes
• Developandprovideresourcestomembersbasedaroundrecoveryservices.
• Demonstrate consistent adherence to the ethical standards and professional conduct guidelines set forth by the American Counseling Association (ACA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and the Professional Counselor (PC) Code of Ethics to ensure safe, ethical, and client-centered therapeutic practice.

Public/Staff Relations:

• Communicatewithinternalandexternalpartnerstocoordinatecareandadvocateformember needs.
• Buildrapportandconnectionswithcommunityserviceproviderstoprovidewraparoundsupport and care to members in recovery.
• Developeffectiveworkingrelationshipswithhumanservicesorganizations.

ProgramDevelopment:

• CreateandupdatedepartmentalproceduresincollaborationwithTherapy Servicesleadership.
• Coordinateandmeetwithotherprogramsandindustryleadersforresearchanddevelopment.
• WorkcloselywithPark Center staffandotherservice providers to ensure comprehensive, recovery focused care for members.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences to discuss member progress, challenges, and additional needs.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in social work (MSW), Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), or a related field required.
• LicensureinthestateofTennessee(LCSW,LMFT,LPCC,orsimilar)preferred,orworkingtowards licensure.
• Atleast2yearsofexperienceprovidingdirectclinicalservices,preferablywithindividualsexperiencing homelessness, mental health issues, substance use, and/or physical health concerns.
• Experienceworkingwithtrauma,substanceuserecovery,and/orco-occurringdisordersisstrongly preferred.
• Knowledgeofharmreductionprinciplesandpracticesisaplus.
• Abletodemonstratestrongrecoverysupportcompetenciesandethicalbehaviors.
• Musthaveprovenwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillsandcomputerliteracy.
• MusthaveavalidTennesseeDriver’sLicense.
• Mustbeabletoshowproofofpersonalautomobileinsurance.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Able to operate with many distractions.
• Routine office environment with capability to provide virtual sessions as needed.

Physical Demands

• The ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • The ability to sit and stand for extended periods is required.
• The ability to use a vehicle to travel to different sites or transport members as needed.
