Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide neonatal and pediatric respiratory support in a Level I Trauma teaching facility. The 13‑week night shift assignment requires NICU/PICU expertise and strong critical care skills.

You will handle ventilated patients, float to the adult unit as needed, and may work weekends. Licensure, BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications, and a proactive approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Respiratory Therapist license.
• RRT certification with BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Minimum 2 years of NICU/PICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to neonates and pediatric patients in a critical care setting.
• Manage ventilated patients; average census 6–10 daily.
• May float to adult unit as needed and work weekends.
• Document care in electronic medical records.
• Perform endotracheal tube care, suctioning, extubation, and related airway procedures.

Description:The incumbent will provide respiratory care to neonates and pediatric patients in a critical care setting.The average daily census is 6 to 10 ventilated patients.Floating to the adult unit may be required as needed.Travelers are expected to work weekends as needed by the unit, limited to no more than 3 consecutive weekends.Self-rating of 4 is required on High Frequency Jet Ventilator (HFJV) and High Frequency Oscillator (HFOV).Both NICU and PICU experience are required.This role includes the following skills: endotracheal tube placement, suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, and oropharyngeal suctioning.Additional skills include sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy care, pulmonary toileting, and interpretation of arterial blood gases.Preference will be given to those with experience in Level I Trauma centers.The facility is a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children’s Client with a total of 554 staffed beds.Charting is completed using an electronic medical record system.All requirements must be met to be considered for this position.Candidates will undergo a screening process based on specific qualifications and prior experience.
