Job Description:

Why Shockwave Medical?
Shockwave Medical is a fast-growing medical device company focused on revolutionizing the treatment of advanced cardiovascular disease. With the innovative Shockwave Reducer System, we are creating new opportunities for patients and physicians in the treatment of refractory angina – long-lasting, debilitating chest pain that cannot be controlled by traditional medicine or surgical procedures and affects millions of people worldwide. We are working with the cardiology community to bring these patients relief from their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Therapy Development Manager will be to collaborate directly with clinical trial sites to identify barriers to study enrollment and develop outreach, education, and patient identification initiatives that drive appropriate enrollment. This will be accomplished by establishing mutually beneficial, long-term relationships with key physicians and their clinical staff. Collaboration with internal partners and a willingness to experiment and learn will be keys to success.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop relationships with HCPs through regular outreach and education (live and virtual) activities, referring HCP visits, product demonstration and conference participation.
  • Establish an understanding of referral dynamics and create site-specific strategies to promote disease state awareness and appropriate patient enrollment.
  • Capture unmet needs and develop programs to address therapy awareness.
  • Pilot activities and bring best practices to other sites; make programs scalable and repeatable.
  • Become a disease state and clinical trial expert, to help HCPs better understand patient selection, referral timeline, protocol requirements, treatment options, and supporting clinical data.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical sites and clinical team (e.g., CRA, study team, commercial team) to ensure strong support of clinical trial sites, research coordinators, and investigators.
  • Proactively and critically examine ways to enhance overall clinical trial performance.
  • Transfer clinical trial knowledge and experience into meaningful input and feedback to cross-functional partners.

What you will need (Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4) year clinical degree in life sciences or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of clinical, marketing, product management, brand strategy, sales, or medical education experience in Medtech industry.
  • Direct clinical experience within interventional cardiology may substitute for some corporate experience.
  • Experience working on new novel therapies/devices and proven market development experience preferred.
  • An ability to build successful partnerships with hospital systems and develop relationships with key opinion leaders.
  • Extensive knowledge of physician outreach, education, and prior demonstrated success.
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including developing relationships in all levels of the organization and indirectly influencing business objectives.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% in your assigned geographic area.
