Position Overview:
The Therapy Coordinator at OrthoArkansas serves as a liaison between therapists, physicians, patients, and other departments to support the coordination of therapy services across our clinics. This role focuses on facilitating appointments, managing communication, and ensuring a positive and efficient experience for patients receiving therapy. The Therapy Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the therapy department through scheduling, communication, and administrative assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule therapy appointments using the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Maintain and update therapist schedules to ensure accuracy and availability along with building relationships with the providers across all locations.
- Assist with patient referrals and direct patients to the appropriate therapy locations.
- Screen and direct calls using EMR messaging, ensuring timely communication with physicians and other departments.
- Answer patient questions about the therapy process with clarity and professionalism.
- Assist with marketing and communication efforts with external therapy clinics as needed.
- Administrative Support
- Manage document processing including scanning, faxing, and handling incoming faxes.
- Provide assistance with registration and check-out processes when necessary.
- Assist with data tracking using Excel.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all OrthoArkansas policies and procedures.
- Additional Duties
- Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the smooth operation of therapy services and patient care.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Emphasis on clerical or office-related skills is preferred.
- Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with patients and team members.
- Professional demeanor and a customer-service mindset.
Software Skills:
- Basic: Word processing, typing.
