What's your day like?
As a Full-Time Therapist I in Juvenile Detention with the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, your day is centered on supporting youth during a pivotal time in their lives. Working in partnership with the Newport News Secure Juvenile Detention Center, you'll provide vital mental health and substance abuse services directly within the facility. Your day may include conducting clinical assessments, trauma and substance use screenings and offering individual mental health consultations. You'll lead group counseling sessions, respond to mental health crises, and offer supportive services that help stabilize juveniles during their detention. You'll also play a critical role in coordinating re-entry planning, working closely with families to connect them with community-based services that promote ongoing stability and success. Your work will have a lasting impact, helping to guide youth toward positive change and healthier futures.
What You Need To Be Successful
To thrive as a Full Time Therapist, I in Juvenile Detention at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, a strong foundation in clinical skills is essential.
