Job summary

Cottonwood Springs Behavioral Health in Olathe, KS, is seeking a Therapist specializing in Social Work, Psychology, or MFT to support adult mental health and addiction programs. You will deliver individual, group, and family therapy within a fast-paced inpatient/outpatient setting and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, treatment planning, and careful documentation in accordance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure is required.
• Experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
• Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.
• CPR certification and CPI within 30 days.

Cottonwood Springs is a behavioral health hospital located in Olathe, KS, part of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. We provide inpatient and outpatient programming for those facing mental health and addiction challenges. Our programs offer caring, compassionate treatment for adults (18+) and include inpatient mental health and addiction treatment and detox, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). What we're looking for: We are looking for a dynamic Therapist in Social Work, Psychology or Married and Family Therapist (MFT) who is passionate about helping others and is a team player! This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence.

Reports to: Director of Clinical Operations

What will you do in this role:

• Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
• Displays active involvement in treatment planning process
• Provides family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups
• Actively communicates with clients, families, and outside referral sources
• Demonstrates proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment
• Works well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members
• Demonstrates active communication with team members
• Effectively communicates to UR on treatment and LOS issues
• Completes appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner
• Demonstrates appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
• Acts as a member of team with crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety
• Completes accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills
• Assists care coordination department as requested
• Completes all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards
• Displays a thorough knowledge of confidentiality
• Completes releases appropriately
• Demonstrates knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abides by those standards
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws
• Displays active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure is required.
• Accepting Psychologist with a master's degree in psychology as an option.
• Accepting Married and Family Therapist (MFT) Master's degree with License as an option.
• Experience: Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
• License: Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.

Additional Requirements:

• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.
