Job summary

St. Louis Arc is hiring a licensed clinician to support teens and adults with developmental disabilities through individualized counseling. The role involves developing evidence-based treatment plans and coordinating with families and care teams to deliver comprehensive supports.

Qualifications

• Licensed clinical social worker or licensed professional counselor with relevant state credentials.
• Three or more years of experience working with teens and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Experience in a therapeutic setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling services to teens and adults identified with developmental disabilities and/or their families.
• Receive referrals for appropriate therapeutic care, such as grief counseling, anxiety, impulse control support needs and relationship counseling.
• Develop and implement treatment plans that are evidence-based, insight-oriented, behavior-modifying, supporting and/or interactive.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify referrals and provide consistent, high-quality supports across services.

What you will do:

Support individuals with developmental disabilities in reaching their goals by providing individualized therapy

• Provide counseling services toteens and adultsidentified with developmental disabilities and/or theirfamilies
• Receive referrals forappropriate therapeuticcare, such as for grief counseling, anxiety, impulse control supportneedsand relationship counseling.
• Make referrals to other providers for individuals at riskforviolent or suicidal behaviors.
• Provide service to develop plans to correct or adjust personal,socialor emotionalmaladjustmentsrelated toeducational,developmentalor social progress.
• Develop and implement treatment plans thatrepresentevidence-based, insight-oriented,behavior modifying, supporting and/or interactive therapeutic counseling.
• Develop and implement treatment plans that are planned, structured and provided usingevidence-based therapeuticmethodsmostappropriate tothe needs of theindividualand/or family member(s) according to current professional, ethical, and legal standards of mental health practice.
• Report and discussindividual’sprogressasappropriatewithfamily and/or primary caregiver
• Keepaccuratesessionrecords; prepare reportsin accordance withpolicies of St. Louis Arc, including assessment/evaluation, incident reports, monthly progressreportsand data collection
• Collaborate with other departments within the St. Louis Arc, such as Residential, Transition/Next, Navigation, and Behavior,in order toidentifyappropriate referralsand provideconsistent, high quality supports across services.
• Develop strong networks in the community through outreach, presentations, and practicum supervision to expand counseling services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families
