Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $65,000 to $75,000 per year. Full time, exempt, benefits eligible. Responsibilities and Duties

The primary responsibility of the Acute Care Therapist will be to provide a wide range of mental health services across the lifespan. Primary emphasis is on delivering services for clients aged 5 through adulthood who need intensive and acute mental health treatment. This position is aimed at providing short-term interventions, either in individual sessions or as part of the Intensive Outpatient Program, to help clients stabilize and transition to other care teams. Training and on-going supervision will be provided. Therapy services will be provided in the office and via telehealth. Specific duties include:

• 1) Providing psychotherapy that includes goal oriented, and empirically based models for individual and groups with an emphasis on intensive, acute-need and crisis stabilization services;
• 2) Providing services with the goal of collaboration and coordination with other members of the Bert Nash treatment team, community service providers, and the client's support network;
• 3) Completing intake assessments that include a thorough evaluation of psych-social, diagnostic, strengths and liabilities of the client and assisting in accessing resources available to the client in the community. The evaluation will include a collaborative process with the client and/or family in setting realistic goals and objectives for the process utilizing best practice standards of care;
• 4) Implementing intervention techniques that are based on continual evaluation of treatment goals and focus of the process. Goals for treatment will be written in measurable and objective language to monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes.
• 5) Assisting in the on-going development and evolution of an effective acute services program including developing group and individual interventions that are consistent with those used in Bert Nash Center intensive outpatient program.
• 6) Participating in BNC training, supervision, consultation, and research activities, to assure that interventions are being delivered according to established standards of care and specific therapy protocol guidelines with clearly measurable outcomes;
• 7) Participating in public information and public relations activities, and to serve as a community liaison and advocate for mental health and the Bert Nash Center
• 8) Delivering reimbursable hours of service compliant with established BNC standards;
• 9) Completing all paperwork associated with the financial, clinical, legal, or regulatory management of the case or the Center's operations in a timely and accurate manner.
• 10) Working closely as a team member of the therapy services department to coordinate with all treatment programs within the department. In addition, working collaboratively with other departments within the Bert Nash CMHC to ensure comprehensive and responsible care of clients and positive staff working environment.
• 11) Completing additional responsibilities as assigned.

B. Accountability:

The Licensed Therapist will be directly accountable to the Acute Team Manager or his/her designee. The Acute Team manager or his/her designee will, no less than annually, complete a performance evaluation in compliance with personnel policies.

C. Qualifications:

• 1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus a master's degree from an accredited school required
• 2. at least two years of experience in the mental health field;
• 3. a license to provide services including: a Licensed Master's level Social Worker (LMSW), a Licensed Master's level Psychologist (LMLP), a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW, or a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist (LCP) in the State of Kansas; also, LCPC; LMFT; LCMFT. Strong preference for those with clinical licensure.
• 4. prior computer experience and basic computer fluency;
• 5. must be able to achieve within one's first 6 months of employment a working competency in the management and use of the Center's electronic medical record (EMR) software as demonstrated by timely and accurate documentation of the clinical record;
• 6. reliable transportation and a valid, unrestricted driver's license;
• 7. an ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;
• 8. strong organizational skills;
• 9. strong oral and written communication skills;
• 10. strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse populations;
• 11. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job, including willingness to work at least one evening per week.
