Job summary

Dr Hill Educational Services is seeking a part-time in-home support professional to work one-on-one with a young client per the child’s behavior plan. The role involves helping the family implement strategies to reduce challenging behavior and promote engagement in everyday activities.

Responsibilities include providing intervention supports, documenting progress, and coordinating with supervising licensed staff.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience working with children
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Trained in PMT/CPI or willing to be trained
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license
• Able to keep documentation of services
• Therapeutic Support Staff Training provided before working (training cost deducted from first paycheck)
• Reports to work as scheduled

• Assist child or teen in avoiding unacceptable behavior and encourage social interaction and participation in group activities
• Help family and caregivers promote acceptable behavior and greater independence

Description of Duties

The primary focus of this role is to provide in-home support one-on-one with a young client in accordance with his/her individual behavior treatment plan. The duties are varied from assisting the child or teen in avoiding unacceptable behavior, playing an emotionally supportive role, encouraging social interaction and participation in group activities, and helping the child’s family and caregivers promote acceptable behavior and more independence.
