Job summary

Dr Hill Educational Services in Connecticut seeks a part-time in-home support worker to provide one-on-one behavioral support to a young client under an individualized plan.

The role involves helping the child avoid inappropriate behavior, encouraging social engagement, and coaching families to promote independence; training is provided before start.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience working with children.
• Trained in PMT/CPI or willing to be trained.
• Valid Connecticut driver's license.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Able to keep documentation of services.
• May function under supervision by licensed personnel.
• Reports to work as scheduled.
• Therapeutic Support Staff Training is provided before starting (training cost deducted).

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home one-on-one support to a young client per the individual behavior treatment plan.
• Assist the family and caregivers in promoting acceptable behavior and greater independence.
• Encourage social interaction and participation in group activities.

• May function under regular supervision by a professionally licensed or certified personnel
• Reports to work as scheduled

• Therapeutic Support Staff Training is provided before working (Training cost will be deducted from the first paycheck)

Description Of Duties

The primary focus of this role is to provide in-home support one-on-one with a young client in accordance with his/her individual behavior treatment plan. The duties are varied from assisting the child or teen in avoiding unacceptable behavior, playing an emotionally supportive role, encouraging social interaction and participation in group activities, and helping the child’s family and caregivers promote acceptable behavior and more independence.
