Talbert House is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Therapeutic Support Specialists (TSS) to join our Adult Residential Services team. In this role, you will provide direct support, supervision, and assistance to adults in a structured residential setting.
As a Therapeutic Support Specialist, you’ll help residents build practical life skills, develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen positive behaviors, and work toward greater independence and successful community living. You’ll be an important part of creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where adults can work toward their personal goals.

As a Therapeutic Support Specialist, you will:
Provide active supervision, support, and assistance to adults in a residential setting.
Foster a safe, structured, respectful, and supportive environment that promotes personal growth and independence.
Build positive, professional relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Serve as a consistent and supportive role model while encouraging accountability and personal responsibility.
Support residents in developing healthy decision-making, communication, coping, and problem-solving skills.
Assist residents with daily routines and the development of independent living skills.
Support individualized treatment, recovery, behavioral, and service goals as directed by the treatment team.
Facilitate and participate in recreational, educational, therapeutic, and life-skills activities.
Encourage residents to actively participate in programming and work toward identified goals.
Utilize approved crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to promote safety and respond appropriately to challenging situations.
Monitor the health, safety, security, and cleanliness of the residential environment.
Complete accurate and timely documentation, including shift reports, progress notes, and incident reports.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and critical incidents in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Collaborate with counselors, case managers, clinicians, supervisors, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support positive resident outcomes.
Assist residents with accessing appropriate services and resources as directed by the treatment team.
Transport residents as required by program needs.
Maintain professional standards, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
Ability to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Experience working with adults in behavioral health, residential treatment, substance use services, corrections, reentry, recovery, homelessness services, or other human services settings.
Experience supporting individuals with behavioral, emotional, mental health, or substance use needs.
Experience working in a residential, structured, or supervised setting.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, de-escalation, recovery-oriented practices, or positive behavior support.

Willingness to learn and apply Trauma-Informed Care, Crisis Intervention, and other program-specific practices.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and participation in residential activities.
Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to resident needs and emergency situations.
Ability to maintain awareness of the residential environment and resident activity.
Occasional driving as required by program operations.
Ability to operate standard office and communication equipment, including computers and mobile devices.
