Job summary

North Slope Borough Health Department seeks a senior program director to oversee the NSB therapeutic program for children and youth in residential care. You will provide administrative and clinical leadership to ensure quality of care, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field, Alaska licensure, and 2+ years supervising residential services or 6 years direct care, with strong knowledge of DSM‑IV‑TR and billing coordination with Medicaid.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field.
• Current Alaska license or eligible within 180 days (psychology, social work, LMFT, LPC).
• Two years' work in residential care supervision or six years direct care with children.
• Must be 21 years or older; background check and clean TB status.
• CPR and First Aid within 30 days; valid Alaska driver's license within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee NSB therapeutic program for children/youth in residential care.
• Ensure compliance with Federal/State grant conditions and Health Department goals.
• Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and staff development.
• Manage records, budgets, program data, and service statistics.
• Coordinate screening, admission, discharge planning, and referrals.
• Coordinate NSB staff and Medicaid billing; ensure quality documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance across all services.
• Promote trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practice.
• Interface with other programs to promote efficient operations.
