Catholic Charities of Baltimore's Villa Maria School is seeking a Residential Childcare Counselor to assist in caring for severely emotionally disabled children within the Residential Treatment facility and the Villa Maria School system.

The role includes supervising daily activities, implementing treatment plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting safety and emotional regulation. Weekend shifts are 6:30 AM–2:30 PM or 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Qualifikationen

• Applies the CARE model to guide interactions with children and families.
• Engages severely emotionally disabled children with a caring, responsive approach.
• Documents records accurately and maintains required logs and reports.

• Supervises daily activities to ensure safety and a structured therapeutic environment.
• Promotes positive social interactions and responsible behavior.
• Implements ITPS and CARE philosophy to support progress toward goals.
• Provides continuous supervision by escorting children to appointments and activities.
• Maintains safety and therapeutic consistency within the unit.
• Uses therapeutic communication tailored to each child’s needs.
• Assesses behavior and adjusts routines to support regulation.
• Recognizes crisis signs and applies de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and share progress.
• Supports unit operations and prepares the environment.
