Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Vincent Villa is seeking Residential Treatment Counselors to provide treatment, care, and assistance to children aged 5-13 in a residential behavioral health program.

Counselors supervise daily living activities and implement the CARE philosophy to support safety and growth. Positions include 8-hour shifts with 4-day or 5-day workweeks and start times around 6:30am or 2:00pm, plus training opportunities and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists children in daily living activities to ensure safety and emotional nurturance.
• Serves as a positive role model and teaches respect, responsibility, and social interactions.
• Escorts children within and between buildings and to appointments for supervision.
• Uses therapeutic judgment to maintain safety, order, and structure of the milieu.
• Utilizes therapeutic communication with residents based on age and development.
• Assesses behavior, mood, and communication and adjusts schedules accordingly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
