Job summary

You will lead sessions in sports, dance, art or relaxation techniques, develop treatment plans, and ensure safety and empathy in interactions. A Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation is required; Master's preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Three or more years’ experience in recreation in a healthcare setting required.
• Experience with patient populations served by the facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and implement activity therapy programs as part of the treatment plan.
• Complete activity assessment through observation and interview to inform goals.
• Plan and implement activities including therapeutic leisure skills and education.
• Lead sessions to improve mental and physical well-being and meet goals.
• Instruct patients in activities such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques.
• Develop treatment plans and interventions to meet patient needs and interests.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and community outings.
• Modify activities for specific groups and maintain a professional, empathetic attitude.
