Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Parks & Recreation or related field required; supplemented by two years of experience in area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and coordinate diversified recreation and sports programs for assigned facilities; develops program services and activities; schedules classes, leagues, events and programs.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes employee performance appraisals.
• Coordinates daily work activities: organizes, priorities, assigns work; creates staff schedules; ensures adequate staffing; monitors progress and inspects completed work.
• Plans, implements, and coordinates facility and grounds use; maintains master calendar; schedules facility rentals; prepares for events.
• Assists in developing and implementing budget for assigned facility or program; monitors expenditures and ensures availability of supplies.
• Coordinates and performs public relations for assigned facility or program: develops brochures, flyers, newsletters; promotes activities to civic groups, schools, and the public.
• Communicates with department administration, county employees, sports associations, the public, and other organizations to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
