Job summary

Forsyth County is seeking a part-time Therapeutic Recreation Program Assistant in Cumming, GA to assist in teaching and facilitating activities, while maintaining safety and program quality. The role involves coordinating with the Program Coordinator, supporting the Team Leader, and helping to run camps, classes, clinics, and events.

You will assist with setup, oversee staff and volunteers, manage inventories, and ensure activities are inclusive and safe.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess and maintain valid First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Requires completion of in-house training program and a valid certification related to the assigned program.
• Must have previous experience working with youth.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must possess and maintain a GA driver's license.
• There are no benefits associated with this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching and facilitating program activities.
• Maintain direct communication with Program Coordinator; assist Team Leader in planning, implementing and evaluating programs.
• Ensure safety, effectiveness, and quality of programs.
• Support the planning and facilitation of camps, classes, clinics, and events for Therapeutic Recreation.
• Oversee seasonal staff and volunteers; maintain facility and equipment inventories; ensure inclusivity and safety.
