The role collaborates with Clinical, Education, and Residential teams to document progress, manage the recreation budget, coordinate community activities, and maintain equipment to ensure safe, engaging experiences for participants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Education, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of recreation experience preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
• Ability to complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and perform a physical restraint.

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement an agency-wide therapeutic recreation program.
• Communicate regularly with Clinical, Education, and Residential through meetings and documentation.
• Manage the Recreation Budget budgeting, distribution, and documentation.
• Coordinate documentation related to Recreation Activities including Assessments, Progress Notes, Attendance Sheets, Program Activity Sheets, and Comprehensive Treatment Plan Narratives.
• Act as liaison between Residential and the community to coordinate activities and special events.
• Maintain all recreation equipment and areas.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Education, or other related degree
