Job summary

You will supervise a team of therapists, coordinate with nursing and case managers, and ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation while expanding services and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in recreational programming for mental health.
• Must have licensure in specialty (e.g., CTRS, art therapy, or music therapy).
• Must maintain a valid Nevada driver's license. BLS and Handle with Care certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate recreational therapy programs for patients ages 6-17.
• Lead and supervise a team of recreational therapists and activity coordinators.
• Conduct patient assessments to develop personalized treatment plans with modalities like music, dance, art, yoga, swimming, equine-assisted activities, and group therapy.
• Coordinate with nursing, mental health, case management, and family members for holistic care.
• Manage medical documentation and HIPAA compliance for patient records.
• Oversee intake procedures and monitor progress via data collection and outcomes tools.
• Use de-escalation techniques during crises to maintain safety.
• Develop new initiatives aligned with best practices in mental health and senior care.
