Job summary

NFI Massachusetts, Inc. is seeking a Creative and dynamic Recreation Coordinator for our secure Intensive Residential Treatment Program in Westborough, MA. You will design engaging daily activities that are safe, therapeutic, and enjoyable, while collaborating with direct care staff to support youth goals.

You will lead group activities, work with families to reflect values and culture, and help youth build essential life skills in a supportive environment. Evening/weekend hours required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with adolescents or in a similar role.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to transport youth.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High energy with strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Availability for evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Create joyful, safe, and clinically appropriate daily activities for youth.
• Design recreational, arts, sports, and extracurricular activities reflecting youth interests and culture.
• Provide coaching for youths to access recreational and community resources.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to align activities with therapeutic goals.
• Lead family-friendly events and celebrations.
• Support transitions and discharge planning with the transition specialist.
• Organize and run daily group activities, ensuring fun and therapy.
• Empower staff to expand activity options and engagement.
