Apple Rehab is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Director for a 40 hours/week hourly position at our Avon, CT facility. You will plan, control and execute a comprehensive recreational program that respects residents’ needs and complies with applicable standards.

The ideal candidate has leadership and supervisory skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a patient‑centered approach. A vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Must meet Therapeutic Recreation Director requirements as per Public Health Code.
• Minimum of one year experience in rehabilitative or geriatric settings.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plans, controls and executes therapeutic recreational services for residents.
• Ensures the highest quality recreation program is provided.
• Leads and supervises staff with a positive, patient‑centered approach.
• Observes Residents’ Bill of Rights and maintains confidentiality.
• Reports grievances and issues to supervisor promptly.
