Job summary

Apple Rehab Colchester is seeking a Recreation Assistant to support the development and execution of therapeutic recreational services for residents, in partnership with the Therapeutic Recreation Director. The role focuses on providing a broad range of activities aligned with residents’ physical and emotional needs and personal interests.

The position requires weekend rotation coverage and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Must have a vehicle and a valid drivers’ license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to provide rotating weekend coverage of recreation activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of therapeutic recreational services for all residents under supervision.
• Help develop a full range of therapeutic recreational programs and activities while considering residents’ physical and emotional limits and individual interests.
• Ensure observance of Residents’ Bill of Rights and report grievances and care plan issues to supervision.
• Foster self-worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
