Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to support a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu within Intensive Psychiatric Services. The role involves facilitating skill-building and theme-specific groups, modeling essential communication and problem-solving skills, and working as part of an interdisciplinary team to document care and communicate with the treatment team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in psychology or human services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, structured and therapeutic milieu.
• Facilitate a variety of skill training and theme-specific groups; model communication, negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, feeding and dressing.
• Document and communicate pertinent information to the treatment team.
