Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT, seeks an Outpatient Behavioral Health Psychiatric Technician to support adult ambulatory programs, including Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient and Extended Day Treatment.

You will implement individual behavior plans, facilitate groups, monitor safety, manage documentation, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or extensive work experience in behavioral health settings.
• Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field is preferred.
• One year of experience in a behavioral health, residential, or school setting.
• CPI certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to participants in a developmentally appropriate manner that creates a safe, trauma free, accepting therapeutic environment.
• Provides case management support for patients as assigned by the clinical team.
• Prepares clinical rooms for daily program that includes setting-up and breaking down of furniture and group equipment/materials for psycho-education groups.
• Monitors patient behavior at all times to assure safety for patients and colleagues throughout the program.
• Completes all assigned documentation responsibilities for collateral contacts and psychoeducation/life skill groups that meets established Joint Commission, state regulatory and corporate compliance criteria.
• Attend and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, staff development meetings, and mandatory department/hospital meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
