Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Connecticut is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join the Greater Manchester Region. This role supports a safe, structured and therapeutic milieu and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager, Intensive Psychiatric Services.

The position involves facilitating skill-building groups, assisting with activities of daily living, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team to document pertinent information.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school degree or GED equivalent required; an Associate’s degree in psychology or human services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, structured and therapeutic milieu.
• Facilitate a variety of skill training and theme-specific groups.
• Model skills to patients such as communication, negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Document and communicate pertinent information to the interdisciplinary treatment team.
