Job summary

Clarke Middle School in Lexington, Massachusetts, part-time Specialized Instructional Assistant for the Therapeutic Learning Program (TLP) is open for immediate start. The role reports to the Building Principal and Evaluation Team Supervisor and works with a TLP teacher and social worker to support students with needs.

The candidate should have a BS/BA (with preferred middle school experience) and be able to assist with behavior, social-emotional supports, and data collection while collaborating

Qualifications

• BS or BA, highly preferred.
• Willing and able to physically manage students if needed.
• Middle school classroom experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individual students under direction of academic and therapeutic staff.
• Support students in TLP and mainstream classes.
• Facilitate implementation of strategies and interventions for student needs.
• Implement social-emotional/behavioral intervention plans as developed by team.
• Collect data on behaviors, interventions, etc. in the classroom.
• Provide coverage for staff.
• Communicate with staff regarding student progress.
• Triage students to appropriate staff.
• Attend staff meetings, community meetings, and other staff/student activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
