Job summary

Rehabilitation Hospital of Columbus in Columbus, GA is seeking a Nutrition Services Clerk to help prepare therapeutic and modified diets for patients and craft meals for staff and visitors. You will update patient kardex, assist with diet orders, verify trays meet diet and preferences, and help with production sheets and special requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food handler permit if mandated by state or county regulations.
• Minimum one-year experience as Diet Clerk/Nutrition Services Clerk in an acute care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Distributes and collects menus, assists patients with diet orders, and processes menus.
• Updates patient kardex to include all diet changes; documents nourishments as ordered.
• Visits patients to gather food preferences, allergies and to document all nutritional history.
• Completes production sheets and documents all special food requests.
• Checks patient tray lines to ensure each meal adheres to diet, patient request, and garnishing.
• Prepares and checks early trays; ensures food carts leave kitchen on schedule.
