Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering is seeking a Theme Lighting Design intern to support project design development and documentation for Disney attractions, restaurants, and more. The role offers hands-on drafting, procurement support, and field installation exposure in Glendale, CA or Orlando, FL.

Qualified candidates are currently enrolled in Industrial/Interior/Theatrical Design programs, have a portfolio link in their resume, and can commit to the January–June 2027 internship period.

Qualifications

• <p>Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Theatrical Design or related field.</p>
• <p>Portfolio link on resume is required for full consideration.</p>
• <p>Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.</p>
• <p>Experience with drafting by hand and basic technical documentation is preferred.</p>
• <p>Familiarity with reading architectural drawings and interfaces is expected.</p>

Responsibilities

• <li>Assist in project design development and technical documentation for Theme Lighting</li>
• <li>Prepare fixture selection information and documentation</li>
• <li>Provide design documentation via illustrations, photos, scaled images, and research</li>
• <li>Plot elevations, show fixtures in scale, and read plots of reflected ceilings and plans</li>
• <li>Support scope tracking and cost estimating with project leads</li>
• <li>Assist production team with fixture procurement, vendor oversight, and shipping coordination</li>
