Job summary

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is seeking a hands-on technician to install, maintain and operate a variety of park events and attractions. You will apply theater skills and advanced special effects knowledge to build believable, durable effects for shows and rides.

Requirements include a high school diploma, an associate degree preferred in theatrical design, and 1–2 years of relevant experience. The role requires travel to nights and weekends as park operations demand.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or technical degree preferred in Theatrical Design/visual Display.
  • 1–2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Ability to sketch, convey design concepts, and use basic hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small groups in constructing and installing pneumatic and electrical infrastructures.
  • Assemble and maintain advanced mechanical special effects structures per blueprints.
  • Design, layout and fabricate moving structures using pneumatic and electrical components.
  • Test, troubleshoot and perfect mechanical movements for durability and realism.
  • Translate designers' plans into practical materials and components.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
