Job summary

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking qualified, self-motivated individuals to join our team at the Sunnyvale Theatre, a state-of-the-art venue. This on-call position requires evenings and weekends and reports to the Technical Coordinator.

Candidates will staff rentals and City-presented performances while operating lighting and sound boards and supervising volunteers. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of theatre experience with lighting, rigging, and

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical theatre experience, including lighting and sound board operation at college or professional level.
One year or one theatre season of experience with lighting, rigging, and sound setup/strike.

Responsibilities

Staff rentals and City-presented performances on an on-call basis (typical call length 4 hours).
Operate lighting and sound boards during performances.
Supervise rentals.
Set up/strike sound and lighting equipment.
Work as deck crew.
Train/supervise volunteer stagehands and house staff as needed.
Assist with light building and equipment maintenance.
Lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work in high or tight spaces.
Attend mandatory theater training.
