Job summary

Caltech in Pasadena is seeking an on-call Stage Technician to support productions in our auditoriums and Beckman Mall. You will handle lighting, audio, and AV setup, operate light boards and sound consoles, and assist with projectors and video playback for scheduled events.

The role requires 2 years of relevant experience, ability to troubleshoot equipment, and a willingness to work evenings and weekends as events demand. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds is also needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to apply advanced technical skills in event support and services.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs.

Responsibilities

• Lighting support for scheduled events; hang, focus, strike, restore production lighting equipment.
• Audio support for events; load-ins, sound checks, performances, strike, and restoration of audio equipment.
• AV support; set up and operation of projectors, computers, and video playback/recording equipment.
• Perform physical setup/strike of events.
• Follow safety standards (OSHA) and procedures across events.
