Job summary

The Grunin Center at Ocean County College is seeking casual, as-needed Theater Technicians to support productions across the campus. Roles span lighting, audio, carpentry, painting, and rigging, with duties assigned by the Technical Production Manager and Coordinators.

Positions are offered as casual/as-needed, with rates set per level: Senior Theater Technician $30/hour, Theater Technician $21/hour, Apprentice Theater Technician $17/hour, reflecting experience and education in theatre

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions and be receptive to feedback.
• General understanding of backstage procedures and protocols.
• Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and good follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading in/out of sets, lights, costumes, audio.
• Hang and focus lighting equipment; operate lighting console; follow spot.
• Assist with audio setup and operation.
• Assist with carpentry and set construction.
• Assist with painting and rigging as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned by production staff.
