Job summary

Laurel School is seeking a Production Technical Manager to design and implement technical aspects for school events, including theatrical productions, assemblies, and concerts. This part-time, seasonal role requires afternoon work with additional hours during events, tech weeks, or evenings and weekends.

The position emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and adaptability, with a focus on equity and belonging in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, scenic painting, sound/lighting design.
• At least 3 years of experience in technical theatre.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds with or without assistance, work on ladders and platforms, and stand for extended periods.
• Experience as a teacher or mentor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers to execute set design, construction, installation and removal.
• Manage lighting and sound design/operation for events.
• Oversee Performing Arts spaces and ensure safety codes.
• Coordinate student Chapel Tech team and stage crew.
• Maintain technical equipment and space in Chapel.
• Provide technical support for evening community events and rentals.
• Support school events and concerts, including Snowflake Assembly.
