Job summary

Laurel School seeks a Production Tech Director to design and implement technical aspects for theatrical productions, assemblies, and concerts. The role requires collaboration with faculty, designers, and students to deliver high-quality events with flexibility around evenings and weekends.

The position emphasizes mentorship of the Chapel Tech team, safe operation of lighting, sound, and production equipment, and proactive maintenance across campuses. A full calendar will be provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical theatre.
• Experience in carpentry, scenic painting, sound/lighting design.
• Specialization in one or more areas of technical theatre preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds with or without assistance and work on ladders.
• Experience as a teacher or student mentor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement technical aspects for a wide range of school events.
• Collaborate with designers to execute set, lighting, and sound for productions.
• Manage Performing Arts spaces and coordinate with facilities for repairs.
• Oversee student Chapel Tech team and stage management crews.
• Maintain production spaces and equipment storage across campuses.
• Provide AV support for student concerts and special events.
