Overview

Position Summary: The Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions in our Theatre History and Social Justice Program.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes in person or online.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
• Grade student work and provide timely feedback.
• Answer student questions and provide academic support per university, college, and department policies.
• Deliver instruction consistent with the course syllabus and department coordination policies.
• Comply with university student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
• Adapt to new modes of instruction.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts in Theatre or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Master of Arts in Theatre plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• Doctorate in Theatre or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Terms of Employment

Part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes typically on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage. All teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary

Rate per credit hour ranges from $1,264 to $1,482, determined by university policy.
