City and County of Denver seeks part-time affiliate faculty for the Department of History at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Faculty will teach both in-person and online courses, adapting to the needs of a diverse student body.
Applicants must possess a master's degree in history or a related field. The position is temporary and paid per credit hour assigned. Faculty will not be eligible for university benefits, but a comprehensive benefits package is available for eligible employees.
Part‑time affiliate faculty positions in the Department of History at Metropolitan State University of Denver enable faculty to teach courses across a broad range of content. Positions are temporary, require ability to teach both in‑person and online, and are paid per credit hour on a semester‑by‑semester basis.
Master’s degree in history or a closely related field.
Doctorate in history or related field; teaching experience.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per credit hour basis. They are not eligible for university benefit coverage. Assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Faculty are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
Salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. Rate per credit hour assignment: $1,264 – $1,482.

Affiliate faculty do not have eligible benefit coverage under the university’s benefit program.
