Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis invites applications for an adjunct faculty pool in Theatre Arts. This is a part-time position in the Department of Communications/Graphic/Fine Arts. Pay is $640 per credit hour.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with a major in theatre, drama or performing arts or 18 graduate semester hours in theatre, drama or performing arts and a master’s degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Theatre Arts.
  • Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; keep students informed about their progress through prompt grading.
  • Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.
  • Maintains accurate student attendance records and grades in compliance with FERPA.
