Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College is inviting applications for an Adjunct Faculty Pool in the Department of Communications/Graphic/Fine Arts. This is a part-time adjunct position with pay per credit hour at $640, working day, evening, or weekend on multiple STCC campuses.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with a major in speech, oratory/rhetoric or communication or 18 graduate semester hours in speech, oratory/rhetoric or communication a master’s degree in any discipline.
• Minimum two years teaching experience in higher education or one year teaching experience and three years employment in the field.
• Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning.
• Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation.
• Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom instruction and related activities.
• Teach day, evening, or weekend classes on Southwest Tennessee Community College campuses.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in college committees and activities.
• Maintain FERPA-compliant attendance records and grades.
• Support student recruitment, retention, and course-related problem solving.
