Job summary

The Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa seeks a Theater Department Manager to oversee the Patel Conservatory theater program’s daily operations, including administrative, curricular, communication, and event planning needs.

The role collaborates with the Theater Department Chair on recruiting/marketing strategy, contracts, schedules, and budget management, while coordinating with Admissions and Finance to maintain records and spend plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in theater or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Five+ years of administrative theater experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops long- and short-range plans for the Theater Program.
• Creates contracts for part-time/adjunct faculty and guest artists.
• Manages teaching and production schedules and calendars.
• Partners with Admissions to ensure accurate student records.
• Oversees budget tracking and procurement with Finance.
