Job summary

Hayward Unified School District is seeking a Performing Arts Center Theater Technician to oversee lighting, sound, and set-related operations for PAC productions. You will support the PAC Theater Manager, coordinate with staff, and supervise theater staff and volunteers to ensure production quality and safety.

The role requires strong knowledge of stage equipment, safety practices, and collaboration with teachers and students for event support and training.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; college-level theater courses preferred.
• Three years’ experience with increasing responsibility in operation of sound and lighting equipment and maintenance of AV equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical needs for rehearsals and performances with event organizers and staff.
• Inspect and arrange for maintenance of technical equipment in coordination with PAC manager.
• Advise production managers on technical specifications, costs and usage of equipment for shows.
• Oversee safety and proper operation during rehearsals and performances.
• Assist in preparing production budgets and maintaining inventory.
